Cadillac Optiq: Battery Warranty
Coverage at a glance
California Zero-Emissions Vehicle coverage (2026)
What is not covered
Cadillac excludes from the New Vehicle Limited Warranty:
- Damage to the battery from incompatible charging methods, or from an adapter that is not sold or approved by General Motors.
- Damage resulting from failure to install Cadillac-provided over-the-air software updates within 45 days of the software becoming available to the vehicle.
- Excessive use of the main battery for non-propulsion purposes, including semi-permanent or permanent daily power provisions. General Motors reserves the right to curtail excessive non-propulsion use it determines to be harmful to the battery.
- Damage caused by collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, explosion, or objects striking the vehicle; and misuse such as spinning the wheels, driving over curbs, overloading, racing or other competition.
- Alteration, modification, or tampering with the vehicle after final assembly, including its software; installation of non-GM parts; and water or fluid contamination.
- Damage caused by failure to follow the recommended maintenance schedule intervals, or by failure to use or maintain proper fluids, lubricants, or refrigerants.
- Vehicles currently or previously titled as salvaged, scrapped, junked, or otherwise considered a total loss: the warranty is void on those.

Scope note
US Cadillac Optiq, model years 2025 and 2026, from the Cadillac Electric Vehicle warranty booklet for each of those years. The California Zero-Emissions Vehicle section exists only in the 2026 edition, which is why that table is marked 2026. The Optiq-V is a separate model and nothing above is a claim about it; model year 2027 is not covered here, and the booklet delivered with a specific car is the authority for that car.
