Chevrolet Bolt EV & Bolt EUV (model years 2017–2023): Charging
DC fast charging
- The option is invisible in the model name and the trim, so a 2017–2021 car has to be checked individually.
- Charging does not stop at the 30-minute mark: it continues to 100% at a gradually slower rate.
- Charging speed varies significantly with outside temperature.
Home charging (Level 2)
| Model year | Onboard charger |
|---|---|
| 2017 Bolt EV | 7.2 kW — RPO K23, standard on LT and Premier |
| 2019 Bolt EV | 7.2 kW — RPO K23, standard on LT and Premier |
| 2023 Bolt EV | 11.5 kW — RPO K28, standard on 1LT and 2LT |
- 32 amps is the Dual Level Charge Cord's maximum.
- GM's advice on home equipment: Level 2 equipment rated at least 240 volts / 48 amps gives the fastest home charging time.
- The cord in the trunk is not the fast one. RPO EJK, a 120-volt portable cord, is the standard cord in 2019 and 2023; the 120/240-volt Dual Level cord, RPO EKT, is an option that replaces it.

Scope note
Model years opened for this sheet: 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. Model years 2018 and 2021 were not checked, and a Bolt EV from either could have DC fast charging as an option in the same way. Every RPO-code claim above comes from a Bolt EV order guide, so it is a Bolt EV claim; the Bolt EUV existed only for 2022 and 2023, and every EUV figure comes from GM's 2022 EUV owner's manual or the 2023 "Get To Know" guide.
