What is not covered

Jeep's 2024 and 2025 booklets exclude damage or conditions caused by:

  • Physically damaging the lithium-ion battery, or intentionally attempting to reduce its life.
  • Leaving the vehicle for over 30 days where the lithium-ion battery reaches a zero or near zero state of charge.
  • Neglecting the charging procedures in the owner's manual, or using incompatible charging devices.
  • Opening the lithium-ion battery enclosure, or having it serviced by someone other than a certified technician at an authorized repair facility.
  • Exposing the lithium-ion battery to contact with a direct flame.
  • Exposing the vehicle to ambient temperatures above 140°F (60°C) for over 24 hours.

Both booklets state that the battery will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use, and place that loss outside the High Voltage Battery Limited Warranty.

Scope note

US market, model years 2021 through 2025, from the Mopar warranty booklet published for each of those years. The 2021, 2022 and 2023 booklets are Wrangler-specific or Wrangler-and-4xe editions; the 2024 booklet is the one Mopar serves under the Wrangler folder, and the 2025 booklet is Jeep's single-brand edition covering gas and PHEV vehicles alike. A 2026 booklet could not be reached on Mopar's publication host, so model year 2026 carries no row here; the booklet delivered with a specific truck is the authority for that truck.
