What is not covered

Kia excludes EV System and Lithium-Ion Polymer Battery damage or failure caused by:

  • Ambient temperatures above 122F (50C) for over 24 hours, or storage below -22F (-30C) for over seven days.
  • Leaving the vehicle over 14 days with the battery at or near a zero state of charge.
  • Physically damaging the battery, intentionally reducing its life, exposing it to direct flame, or immersing any part of it in water or fluids.
  • Opening the battery enclosure, or service by anyone other than a Kia certified EV technician.
  • Incorrect charging procedures, or incompatible charging devices.
  • A public charger, a non-Kia charge cord, or other third-party EVSE; and incidental or consequential damage from failing to repair an existing problem.

Scope note

Kia writes one warranty manual per model year for its electric vehicles rather than one per model, and the 2024 edition is the one read here; nothing above names the EV6 specifically. Model years 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026 were not checked. The manual delivered with a specific car is the authority for that car.
