How to check an individual car

  • Kia puts the air conditioning refrigerant label inside the motor compartment.
  • Item 2 on that label is the amount of refrigerant.
  • With a heat pump the refrigerant charge is 1,300 ± 25 g of R-1234yf; without one, 1,125 ± 25 g.
  • Kia's caveat: the actual label in the vehicle may differ from the illustration.

Model years 2024 through 2026, US market, each read from Kia America's own Features & Options table for that model year. Kia marks the heat pump Optional on the 2025 Light Long Range and Not Available on the same trim for 2024 and 2026, so a 2025 Light Long Range has to be checked car by car.
