- Tesla Supercharger access opened to ID.4 owners on November 18, 2025, and requires a Volkswagen-approved NACS-to-CCS DC adapter.
- Adapter MSRP is $200, at Volkswagen dealers and parts.vw.com; original owners of model year 2025 ID.4s are eligible for a $100 rebate, claimed within 90 days of purchase and no later than July 15, 2026.
- An adapter comes standard with every model year 2026 Volkswagen EV.
- The adapter is for DC fast charging only — not designed for Level 1 or Level 2 AC equipment, including home chargers and Tesla Destination Chargers.
- Volkswagen strongly recommends a software update before using the adapter on certain 2024 and 2025 ID.4s.

Scope note
Model years 2021 through 2025, US market, from Volkswagen's own order guide for each of those years plus its 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025 ID.4 press kits and its November 2025 Supercharger release. Volkswagen published no 2022 ID.4 press kit, so model year 2022 rests on the order guide alone. Where the order guide and the press kit differ on a peak DC rate, both figures are shown; model year 2026 was not checked and is not claimed, beyond Volkswagen's own statement that an adapter ships with every 2026 Volkswagen EV.
