Accepted Answer

Yes, automatically. Volkswagen states that when the native navigation's route guidance with the Electric Vehicle Route Planner is active, preconditioning starts automatically on the way to the next quick-charging station. Without route guidance it can be activated by hand from the charging menu in the infotainment system. Volkswagen says preconditioning cuts charging time by several minutes, particularly in winter.

No Volkswagen document behind this page names the port outright. Volkswagen describes its adapter as a DC fast-charging adapter for North American Charging System (NACS) to Combined Charging System (CCS) port, in a release about ID.4 and ID. Buzz owners, which is where the CCS answer comes from. Tesla Supercharger access opened to ID. Buzz owners on November 18, 2025, and requires that Volkswagen-approved adapter, MSRP $200, sold through Volkswagen dealers and parts.vw.com. It is for DC fast charging only, not Level 1 or Level 2 AC equipment or Tesla Destination Chargers.

No. Volkswagen's disclosure for the 2025 ID. Buzz Charging Plan says so in one word — "Non-transferable." — and adds that it is not available for commercial use such as ride-hailing and ridesharing. Volkswagen's Plug&Charge terms say the same thing at more length: the feature is available upon purchase of a new, unused 2025 ID. Buzz, can only be used by the original purchaser or owner for the duration of the included charging plan, and is "Not valid for subsequent owners." The plan is 500 kWh of complimentary DC Fast and L2 charging plus thirty-six months of Pass+ membership, beginning at vehicle purchase.

The onboard AC charger is 11 kW, standard on every 2025 trim. The charging cable is not included; Volkswagen sells a 2-in-1 240V/120V cable as an accessory.
